Music Tuition

Potential students should get in touch with the KOS in the first instance to arrange a free trial consultation lesson, or if you would prefer, why not come along to one of our regular, free open morning sessions aimed to enable potential students the opportunity to explore the organ.

Our lessons are charged as follows:

Initial Consultation lesson: FREE

Lessons are charged at £20 for a 30-minute session.

For many students, a ten week term of 30-min lessons will be the norm.

Lessons are charged per term and are billed in advanced.

A notice period of 4 weeks is asked for in the event that a student wishes to cease lessons.

Scholarships and Bursaries

The KOS Canterbury Scholarship.

The KOS  Rochester Scholarship

Worth up to £300 for one year. Each scholarship is to cover the cost of music lessons with the  Organ School.

For  an application form contact the school directly.

As a part of our mission to develop good quality organ playing, we will be offering one or two scholarships per year to students who show real potential and may need financial assistance to maintain lessons. A direct approach to the KOS should be made in this instance.

The Royal College of Organists also offers bursary help to potential students: please get in touch with us directly.

Church and individual Sponsorship

Many churches are increasingly finding it difficult to recruit a regular organist to play for services: these churches are encouraged to get in touch. We have suggestions and ideas aimed to help churches to develop good quality musical accompaniment to their services.

Many churches already support the training of young organists through a church scholarship and this is an area which should be developed.  If you would like to discuss ways to work with us to develop a scholarship, please do get in touch.

Many people want to help and if you would like to support the development of good quality organ training here in Kent, then please complete a contact form and we can discuss ways to help us to develop our scholarship programme, which is aimed to offer support for new organists.
